Moleskine Turntable 18 month planner

Here is the newest format planner from Moleskine, the Turntable! I've been wanting one of these ever since I discovered them online back in November!
The Turntable has a genius design that allows you to use the weekly pages vertically or horizontally, and you can change how you use it each week if you want to.

Here is the back of the label, click photo to enlarge:
Here is the weekly layout. There are no lines, and the days are written at the bottom of the page if you hold the book vertically or at the left side if you hold the book horizontally. I'll show you more details of the weekly pages as I show you the rest of the features of the book.  Please click to enlarge photos for a better view. I had a hard time getting the print to show up in my photos.

The 2013-2014 Turntable planner goes from July 1, 2013 all the way through the end of December 2014. There are loads of planning calendars in this book. There are monthly reference calendars for July-December 2013, all of 2014,

AND all of 2015. Then there are month column planning pages for July-December 2013,
 all of 2014,

AND ALL of 2015!  So when you start this planner in July 2013, you can plan ahead all the way through the end of December 2015! You know I love me some planning ahead!

Here's an interesting change from previous Moleskine planners: there are no country holidays. Instead of the international holidays chart, there are pages to record the holidays and events that pertain to you each month.

There is a website listed where I presume you can find lists of country holidays to help you fill in these pages. I tried the website but as of today it's not up and running yet.

Another thing that's different is that country holidays are not indicated on the days. Previously in Moleskine planners, the country abbreviation was printed on the day that country had a holiday. But in the New Year's page below, you can see there are no holiday indications. You'll need to fill in holidays on the day spaces if you want them there.

Other useful Moleskine pages are still there like the time zones map, conversions and dialing codes, which I like.

The Travels Planning pages are slightly different now, with lines.

There are Timetable pages to write your fixed weekly schedule. These pages have the Turntable format so you can use them vertically or horizontally:

There are also Expense Planning pages with the Turntable format too:

Moon phases are indicated on the day spaces as they have been in former Moleskine planners, but new this year are times for the phases, at GMT. The diary info page has more information about the moon phases and times:
Below you can see where the moon phases are printed on the day spaces at the top of the page.
Now we get to the weekly pages. This planner starts July 1, 2013 and the weekly pages end January 3, 2015.

The days are printed at the bottom of the day spaces if the book is held vertically, and at the left if the book is held horizontally. The month dates are printed along the edge of the page for reference. There are faint hash marks to indicate the current week.

There are several unlined pages in the back of the book for Notes, with the page title also printed in the Turntable format so you can write your notes vertically or horizontally.

There is an address booklet tucked into the back pocket.

On the Moleskine website and here in my photos the cover looks more blue than it is in real life. I can assure you the true color is a glorious royal purple!

I want to congratulate Moleskine on this genius design, I think it will be a huge hit!

I ordered this Turntable planner from Amazon. It is available in this Violet color and also in Yellow, Green or Magenta, in this Large size or also in the Pocket size.

Moleskine 2013-2014 planners

Yes you read that right. They're not available yet, but I found the Moleskine 2013-2014 18 month planners!

You can see them on this website here:

Scroll down from the current range and take a look at the ones that say New.

Star Wars 18 month planners!  Woo hoo!

But even more exciting than that, Moleskine has a brand-new format for 2013-2014 called the Turntable which can be used either vertically or horizontally. This is genius, and honestly I'm peeved that I didn't come up with this design myself.

**UPDATE: the website has changed their links and the images are no longer available, but you can see the Moleskine Star Wars, Turntable and all their 2013-2014 planners in the Moleskine Spring 2013 catalog here.

I'm always excited every year to see what Moleskine comes out with next!  New formats, colored covers, Star Wars themes, all very exciting!

Meanwhile I'll keep scouring the internet to look for their 2014 planners, I can't wait to see what they come out with!
