Success Choice 2017 planners

Are you looking for a planner to help every aspect of your life including work, family, home care and maintenance, personal goals and growth? What planner could possibly encompass all of that?

This one: The Success Choice Planner.

Pamela Henrie, the creator of The Success Choice planner, has done (and continues to do) a ton of research on productivity, goal setting and tracking, and time and task management. She incorporates all of this into her planners.

The Success Choice Planner is comprised of quarterly books (or looseleaf pages) that are packed full of features designed to help you identify your goals, reach your potential, and keep everything running at once. The pages are 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches (half letter size) so the books are lightweight and portable. They are designed to go everywhere with you so you can capture plans and ideas on the go.

New for 2017: After considering all the feedback from customers, the paper has changed and is now white! The white paper and new clearer font make the pages easier to read.

Every quarter there is a new color scheme, and monthly pages have heavier paper and colored edges to make them easy to find embedded in the weekly pages. Every month there is a theme to focus on. For example January's theme is Discover Your Talents.

I'm not going to show you all the features of these planners, partly because there is just so much but also because I don't want to give everything away. Part of the fun of these planners is discovering all the jewels throughout.

Every month there are pages to plan your goals for every aspect of your life, which helps with work-life balance and personal focus. There are tips relating to that month's focus, and monthly traditions to help build relationships and happy memories. Every week there are pages for tasks, household chores, meal planning and grocery lists.

The weekly pages have lots of room for your schedule and tasks each day, and trackers for your water, exercise, and nutrition plus customizable daily trackers. The week has Monday-Thursday on a two page spread:

And Friday-Sunday on the following page, along with a page to review your week with lessons learned, successes, and space for reflection.

Throughout the books there are plenty of pages to help you think ahead about your goals, track your goals along the way, and evaluate your progress. There are pages for journaling and notes throughout the books.

Every month there are pages to review your month, list successes and lessons learned.

Again I don't want to show you everything, but at the beginning of the year there are pages to help you set goals for every aspect of your life: health, spirituality, relationships and family, finances, etc. There are spaces to brainstorm what you would like to happen in the upcoming year. Then there are pages to help you break these goals down by month.

At midyear there are pages for your goals checkup and review:

And again at the end of the year there are pages for your year-end review.

The inside covers of these books are filled with tips on creating your success plan, tracking your success, establishing monthly, weekly and daily routines, etc.

In the back of each quarterly book are forward planners for the next two years, more notes pages, and a pocket for cards and papers.

The Planner Companion booklet is sold separately and is designed to fit into the back of the leather cover along with your spiral planner.

This booklet is full of reference pages and is the perfect place to keep long term lists and info to use year after year. Again I don't want to show you everything, but this will give you an idea of the enormous amount of information this slim lightweight booklet holds.

The first page is quick reference, handy during those panic/ crisis moments:

There are pages for important information like rewards programs, WiFi location logins, important people:

There are pages you can customize for your own needs:

Vehicle repair logs:

Detailed contacts pages, gift ideas, books to read, movies to see, restaurants and phone numbers, vacation ideas, birthdays and anniversaries, etc. There is a lot of information crammed into this very slim and portable book, so you have access to this info all the time.

The companion booklet is specifically designed not to ask you to write down information that could lead to identity theft like passwords or account numbers.

The Success Choice Planners and the Companion Booklet will help you get and stay organized in all aspects of your life, all year long.

The Success Choice new covers: Felt and Caramel Leather

The Success Choice has some gorgeous new covers in: Limited Edition Felt, and new Leather covers!

This is the new felt cover in Red:

The felt is wool, and feels so nice in my hands. It is also very lightweight.

It has an elastic strap closure, and inside you can see there is a placemarker and elastic pen loop.

This is the Caramel leather cover. These come with the tab closure shown here, or now with an elastic strap closure.
The rustic leather looks and feels great, and has that nice leather smell!

Inside you can see the leather covers have pockets for cards and a checkbook, as well as the placemarker and pen loop. You might remember my review of the brushed leather cover I did a couple of years ago with the same features.

Here you can see the color comparison between the Caramel leather and the Chocolate leather. (This is the Success Choice binder I reviewed here.

The felt and leather covers are designed to fit the Women's Success Choice planner and/ or the Choosing Joy in the Journal Journal (which I reviewed here). Below you can see how both can fit into the cover at the same time.

Choosing Joy in the Journey Journal from The Success Choice

This is a wonderful new product from The Success Choice: The Choosing Joy in the Journey Journal!
This new journal is a wonderful addition to the Success Choice lineup. It can be used along with the Women's Success Choice Planners, or alone.

The journal has 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inch pages and is very light (only 209 g!) so it's easy to carry with you everywhere to capture thoughts and ideas wherever you are. The thick paper can be used with any inks, is acid-free and archival. There are 136 numbered pages, the last three of which are a categorized index (which I will show you in a minute).

The journal is full of tips, quotes and ideas. Inside the front cover is advice on using your journal. (Click on photos for larger views.)

There are several pages, which I will not show, of journaling prompts with monthly themes. These monthly themes are the same as the corresponding months in the Women's Success Planners. The theme of the 2014 planners is Be. Each month has a different topic, for example January's is Be Present. The journal has several journaling prompts for Be Present such as, "How can I be more fully engaged in my interactions with others?" and "What distracts me from being fully present?"

Other journal-prompt topics are Be Organized and Be Self-Reliant. You can use these topics to prompt your journaling, if you like. Or they can be just something to think about. You can work through all 12 topics and their prompts, or choose whichever ones relate to you at the time.

After the journal prompts pages come the journaling pages. On every two-page spread, the left page is blank and the right page is lined. This allows you to use the pages in many different ways: adding in photos, sketching, art journaling, etc.
At the bottom of each right-hand page is an inspiring quote. Also here you can see the pages are numbered.

Here is something that makes this book especially useful: at the back are three pages of categorized index so you can easily find things in the book. The first two pages have designated categories like Plans and Events:
On the last page the categories are blank so you can customize it yourself.
The pre-numbered pages and index in the back would make this book especially useful as a Bullet Journal or other daily-record type book.

On the back cover there are more ideas for ways to use your journal:

The journal is designed to fit into the Success Choice leather covers and felt covers, which are roomy enough to fit the journal in along with the Women's Success Planner. I will show the new covers in my next post. Or it can be used without a cover. The laminated card covers would hold up well even in your bag.

(I apologize these photos are not great, I took them quickly in a brief moment of sunshine! The book actually looks much nicer than my photos show.)

I ordered this journal for myself and I also bought one for my mom, and she loves it! This would be an excellent journal or everyday book for anyone.

The Women's Success Choice 2014 planners!

Anyone who has been reading my blog for awhile knows I love The Woman's Success Choice planners. They are so comprehensive, and so inspiring. I love all the motivational tips and goal-setting advice. Now they have several new products!

The Choosing Joy in the Journey Journal is based on the same excellent principles as the Success Choice Planner. And they now have gorgeous felt covers! And, their soft leather covers (which fit A5 and 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inch books, including my Plannerisms Planners) now come with either a tab closure or an elastic closure. You can see all their covers and binders here.

I grabbed a couple of journals (one for me and one for my mom), a red felt cover and the Caramel Brown leather cover I've had my eye on for a long time in the Cyber Monday sale. My mom is bringing them with her when she comes over for Christmas, so expect to see reviews of these new products next month!

Last year I reviewed the excellent new features in the 2013 planners. This year I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that the 2014 planners have a new feature:
The monthly pages match the cover color! It's a beautiful new addition to these wonderful planners.

You can see the entire range of Success Choice planners, journals, address book, covers and binders at www.thesuccesschoice.com.

Brush Dance pages in my Success Choice binder

If you've read my first two posts in this series, you'll know I bought the Success Choice binder I've been wanting for so long, and loaded it with Franklin Covey pages that left me meh.

After I loaded in the FC pages, I remembered an experiment I wanted to do months ago but didn't have a hole punch for at the time. But now I do! Let the experiment commence!

I reviewed the 2013 Brush Dance Perennial Grace datebook awhile ago. It is a gorgeous planner and I love it.

But, I have two problems with it:

The weeks are broken at the beginning and end of the month where the tabbed months are put in.

And, the two week spread doesn't give me anyplace to write my weekly lists.

I thought how perfect the planner would be if it were a week + notes format without the broken weeks. I adore the art, the quotes, the colorful pages, the thick white paper, the holidays printed on the days, and the tabbed months.

I had a lightbulb moment when I realized I could use my new hole punch and Success Choice binder to make the planner exactly how I wanted it to be!

I went to work with scissors and the hole punch. In my excitement I didn't take any photos of the process, but here is the result.  Basically, I put a lined notes page between each of the pages. Brush Dance, if I could redesign your planners, this is how I would make them:

Tabbed months are still embedded in the weeks.

The month page is followed by a lined page for that month's goals or notes.

Turn the page and there's the first week of the month. This week the first of the month happens to be on Monday, but even when the first of the month doesn't fall on Monday there would still be the entire week here, not broken. In this planner I'll draw in the days to complete each broken week.

There is a lined page between the weeks:

And after the last week of the month there is another lined page for monthly notes, month review, monthly finances or whatever. Then there is the next month's tabbed page.
At the back of the book are the Addresses tab and pages.

Also at the back I put in the pocket, which is very handy to have.

Here you can see how nice the tabbed months look!

My Perennial Grace datebook didn't have as many notes pages as required for this setup so I had to pirate some from my Brush Dance A Fearless Woman datebook.

The result is perfect! And it looks so great in my binder!

Have any of you hacked a bound planner into a ring-bound system?

Franklin Covey weekly pages in my Success Choice binder

In my previous post I wrote about my Success Choice binder and mentioned I bought Franklin Covey Classic size weekly pages for it. Here are the details!

When Josh posted on Adspot that he was selling his awesome Success Choice binder (which is the same size and rings as the Franklin Covey Classic size) for an amazing price, I snapped it up! I've been desiring that binder for ages!

I also grabbed the Franklin Covey Classic size hole punch he was selling too, so I could put whatever pages I want into my new binder. Awesome!!
I ordered the Franklin Covey Classic size weekly Seasons inserts, because I've used the Seasons two pages per day in Compact size before and I like the seasonally-changing images better than the plain designs they have.
The weeks are not printed back to back. On the back sides of the weekly pages are weekly lists.

The weekly inserts also come with tabbed months on two pages, which is very nice.
The months also have lists space on the back sides of the pages, for monthly tasks and goals and the month index. This allows the months to be embedded in the weeks.

But once I got the FC pages into my binder, I didn't get that thrill of excitement I usually get with a new planner setup. It was just...meh.

THEN. I remembered an experiment I thought about months ago, but didn't have the equipment to try. UNTIL NOW!

See my post this Friday to see what awesome thing I came up with!
