Your favorite quotes?

What are your favorite inspirational quotes?

I like to write quotes on my planner's weekly pages to inspire me, keep me motivated, or just keep my perspective.  Also, I've decided to expand the Me section of my Filofax into an entire Me notebook, and I'd like to have my favorite quotes throughout the book.

So let's hear it!  What are your favorite quotes from famous, or not so famous people about life, the universe, and everything?

  2. I also have a "quote" section in my Filo, but more often than not I end up writing them down on the page for the day I discover them because it is in the context of that day that they were most meaningful.

Once a month I make time to transfer the ones that are still meaningful to me into a Commonplace Book (a Moleskine) so they are all in once place.

The Me Notebook idea is taking off! Seems there are three of us heading in that direction now!!

Gotta love Filo inspiration : )

  5. Quotes:
Be yourself. Everyone else is taken . . . Oscar Wilde.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results . . . Albert Einstein

When you're going through hell, keep going . . . Winston Churchill

    And finally, just for fun:
I once had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalogue: no good in a bed, but fine up against a wall. . . Eleanor Roosevelt

The radio spectrum is already packed and unfortunately they have stopped making any more of it....

  7. Possibly my favorite quote ever, and one that I find very inspiring and motivating, is this one by Mark Twain:

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

More I have written into my planners:

"Action is the antidote to despair." ~Joan Baez

"Adventure is worthwhile in itself." ~Amelia Earhart

"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." ~Thomas Edison

  8. Some of my other favourite quotes come from song lyrics, here are a few!:

'You can check out but you can never leave' - Hotel California - The Eagles of course.... I think a few websites a bit like that!

'Your lights were on but no one was home' - Addicted to Love - Robert Palmer, I think there's a double meaning to this line in the sense that the person's eyes were open but they looked a little vacant! Hello is there anyone in there!

'There's no such thing as a dirty book... it's just the way you read it!' - Shake that thing - The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, from way back in 1975

'When the sun beats down and I lie on the bench, I can always hear them talk. Me I'm just a lawnmower, you can tell me by the way I walk!' - I know what I like (in your wardrobe) - Genesis - Selling England by the pound.

“Never underestimate a child's ability to get into more trouble.”

I'm not an angel but I've spread my wings a little bit

Women speak two languages - one of which is verbal

  10. I keep my list of quotes in a Word document on my computer, mainly because it's gotten to big to keep in my Filo. Most of the quotes I have are about books or quotes from books. I don't know that I can pick a favorite.
