Free For All Friday No. 14: Annual Review 2013

Now is the time of year when I start my annual review. I don't do anything intensive or formal, I just look back at what my goals were at the beginning of the year, how they changed and developed during the year, and where they are now.

I'm happy that I was able to complete many of my goals. Some didn't get completed due to circumstances beyond my control, some are nearly there, and some became irrelevant. I'll use this review to determine what my goals will be in 2014.

My Plannerisms planner has designated pages for the Annual Review, but you could just as easily write it in your journal or in your Filofax.

Do you do any type of annual review? Where do you write it?

And as always on Fridays, feel free to discuss anything planner-related!

  1. HI,

Indeed I do annual reviews. Business wise, they are mandatory, because of market, budget, cash flow, etc, reasons. And on the personal side, they help regain/maintain perspective and realign energy focus.

  2. Laurie, at the bottom of the video post in the 'you might also like' section I saw this post: http://www.plannerisms.com/2011/07/my-collection.html

I don't suppose you'd consider doing an update of it please?? In particular (and this might be a request too far) I was wondering if you'd be able/willing to indicate somehow which spines shown in the pics are which planners - maybe with numbers for various ones and then a numbered list underneath the pic? In particularly I've been trying to pick out the Uncalendars full-size and half size (interested in seeing how large/thick they are standing next to bunches of other planners whose sizes I know very well - for example the Moleskines) but without much success... What do you think?

    1. Hi Gail, I can't do it right now but I can show you photo comparisons between Moleskines and Uncalendars sometime next week. The Half Size Uncalendar is about the same size as a large Moleskine. The Full Size Uncalendar is much bigger, 8 1/2 by 11 inch page size. The Uncalendars are less than an inch thick. I hope this helps!

    2. Ugh, for some reason my comments keep being eaten, which is why I want so clear in my last comment - i was rewriting in a hurry.

I was wondering if you might be willing to redo the blog post about your bookcase with an updated photo since its been a few years? This is mostly because I'm nosey :-)

Re The uncalendars, I'm aware of their dimensions but it doesn't mean as much as seeing them in their natural setting, particularly next to things I'm very familiar with such as Moleskines and Filofaxes. Would really appreciate it if you'd take some pics, yes please! Thanks :-)

  3. I've not ever done anything formal in terms of annual review, with the exception of the annual review at work like Giovani mentioned above. This year I'm doing a recap, not necessarily aligned with what I intended to do at the start of the year, but rather what I actually DID do this year. It's been a hell of a year and I'm pretty proud of what I was able to accomplish! Things are much more settled now.

  4. I like to do an annual review also. I go through my monthly indexes and write down highlights from each month. It's amazing how much I forgot!
